Generating your Creator Code & Getting Started
- Make your code simple – it’s best to use your name or the pseudonym that you most commonly use
- Explore your Nexus Dashboard, including the Sales and Settings tab.
- Set up your payment information and Streamlabs or StreamElements alerts if you stream.
- Walk through the in-game process that players go through to use your code so that you’re familiar with how it works.
Sharing your Creator Code
- Add your creator code to your primary social media accounts and pin it wherever possible.
- Make an initial announcement that you now have your own creator code and make sure your community knows that purchases with your code support you.
-
Make regular reminders that using your creator code supports you, whether that’s a verbal reminder, in a tweet, listed in posts alongside your content, or during a live stream.
- We've found the best time to promote your code is during coverage of the latest patch or update to the game that you play.
- Be sure to disclose how using the code supports you.
Streamer Best Practices
- If you’re a streamer, you have the unique opportunity to celebrate community support in real-time by leveraging the live alert feature to do so.
- Set up code usage alerts via Streamlabs or StreamElements to drive awareness during live streams. We also recommend that you:
- Add a command to your chatbot like "!code".
- Add the bot command to your title and putting it on a timer.
- Mention that purchases support you during your stream.
- We suggest making your creator code visible by adding a panel to your Twitch profile or by including graphics to advertise it in YouTube videos. Create your own or use the pre-made Nexus panels provided!
- If you need assistance designing a panel or graphic for your creator code, Nexus can help get one made for you. Contact us via Discord to request support.
